About Me
David Black
My name is David Black and I am from Kernersville North Carolina. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering so that I can learn how the would around me works create my own interesting thing to be used in the world.
In 2156 I would love to design polymer suspension and/or drive components for RC cars or trucks. I personally own a Traxxas slash RC truck. This truck is a 1/10 scale version of a trophy truck. I hope to redesign some of the components that are week and have broken. As well as parts that will increase performance and handling.
I’m interested in taking motorsports classes like powerplants and tire mechanics. In my career after college I hope to be designing drive systems for cars or trucks. Any class that fits in to that would interest me. Classes that have to do with the transfer of energy like thermodynamics are also of interest to me.
My strengths would be that I’m a very driven person and like to get things done in a very detailed oriented way. I consider myself a detail driven person and as such pay attention to things in great detail. I also like to learn how to do new things and will spends hours learning a new skill for one or two tasks. A weakness of mine is that I tend to spend to much time on details that don’t matter for the project at hand. Over the past few years I have managed to improve this habit, but I still catch myself obsessing over details on occasion.
Somethings I would like to accomplish in my life time would be going overlanding in the Australian outback with my 1988 Jeep, own a personal yacht, get my pilots license, learn to fly a helicopter and start a family. I might not complete these in my life time, but I hope to do most of them and enjoy life for what it has to offer.
Something interesting about me is that I can solve the Rubik’s Cube. In my spear time I do enjoy solving puzzles and exercising my brain.
During this assignment I have bettered my skills in HTML and I probably spent 1 to 2 hours on this first assignment in 2156.
